If you're worried about 96/4 ground meat, you're losing sight of reality. I'd advise diluted (1:2) gatorade starting about 30 min before you train, continuing to drink it during your sessions. I don't know if you addressed hydration, it's key (esp to staying regular). Many of your meat suggestions are extremely high in sodium. This is working against you. Deli meats are not that great a food selection. You shouldn't be hitting 5RM's at all during this phase. No *RM is going to happen, period. Take at least 10% off. If you don't want to give Lyle credit for the diet, just call it a PSMF, which he in no way invented. It shouldn't be necessary to take EC 3x/day. Once in the morning, once at noon-1, done. Don't take it for several hours before you train. It's speed, afterall.
My post was directed at replicating what Lyle says as closely as possible by using second hand information. I'm not worrying that much about fat, considering I ate two lbs. of pork tenderloin over two days, and I am using oil to cook things in pans and what not. The blog was designed as a primer for people who have no experience doing it, kind of like SS. You know, one of those things where those of us who know what we're doing can tweak it because we understand the basics, but most people don't, so you make it out to require strict adherence. If TSI did this diet and tried to change it up, he'd be eating 2000 calories and wondering why the fuck it wasn't working.

Sodium is the least of my worries on this kind of diet. My recommendation for deli meats is for those times when you failed to plan ahead and don't have anything you can readily cook (like me right now...I forgot to put some chicken in the fridge to defrost...but I also forgot to buy deli meat. Shit.)

As for EC, I recommended starting off with 1x, and increasing it if your body gets used to it, and pointed out it will vary based on the individual.

whats the problem with salt anyway? why is it "working against you"?
is just the high blood presure possibility, or is there a detrimental effect on muscle gain/workouts?

High sodium can lead to high BP, yeah. But it's also going to bloat you up, and when you're on a crash keto diet, water fluctuations can be very misleading. Not to mention most deli meat has a bunch of other stupid ingredients in it.

None of this is relevant to me, since I understand all of that, but it is worth putting in the blog. I'll update it with your comments soon.

Also, the link between BP and sodium in people who don't already have hypertension is so tenuous it's silly.

Damn I need to get my diet sorted out. I am making gains at the gym but I haven't been doing the eating thing correctly. I am holding at around 199lbs. Tomorrow I am getting my shit in order and doing it right. I've been doing 2 to 3 days a week at gym. I'll be back to 3 - 4 now that school is starting back up.

Rendy from the Jeremiah Weed commercial remembered me and the fact that I was in school today when I went up to Metroflex. I hadn't been there for a year...very impressive. Pretty sure I was giving blonde kid at the end that's eating advice on pressing last time I was up there, and the guy to his left was in there squatting today.

Sometimes when I poop it splashes and hits my butt. I am not sure if I like it or not...
